CLINICAL AROMATHERAPY: ESSENTIAL OILS IN HEALTH CARE

    JANE BUCKLE

Aromatherapy is one of the most accessible and proficient complementary practices to be integrated into health services, and can be worked on at an expressively significant curative level, contributing to the improvement of the most diverse clinical specialties. This book is the first and only Clinical Aromatherapy book that has been peer reviewed and includes a foreword written by Dr. oz. All chapters were written by a doctor in nursing and postdoctoral research and reviewed by renowned experts in the field. This book is an indispensable resource for learning how to effectively incorporate aromatherapy into clinical practice.

This work takes a holistic approach, which analyzes the main factors and current issues involving aromatherapy and applies them within different contexts and conditions. It also includes up-to-date information on aromatherapy treatments to ensure you are fully equipped to offer patients the best complementary therapy available.

    ABOUT THE BOOK:

It is with great joy that we present the launch of the work: “Clinical Aromatherapy: essential oils in health care”, by Jane Buckle. Translated exclusively into Portuguese by Editora Laszlo, this is not only the first Brazilian work to address the insertion and feasibility of Aromatherapy in clinical practice, but also the first on the subject based on scientific evidence, completely reviewed by peers and recognized by the Elsevier.

For Editora Laszlo it is a great honor to be a pioneer in the publication of a work with the support of the organization. With an international reputation, Elsevier is a global information analytics company and one of the most reputable institutions in the publishing of scholarly productions. Working together with institutions and qualified professionals, it contributes to the progress of health care and the performance of science on behalf of humanity.

Responsible for making possible the introduction of Aromatherapy among the medical practices of several hospitals in American and European countries, Jane Buckle, author of the work, writes with the property and passion of someone who for more than thirty years has dedicated herself to the study and support of insertion of integrative practices combined with conventional medicine.

Divided into three sections, the book approaches from the basic foundations of Aromatherapy (historical evolution, forms of action of essential oils, taxonomy, toxicity and contraindications), reaching the clinical scope, with models of clinical aromatherapy policy in hospitals, and practical examples of how essential oils are already used in Integrative Medicine.

Covering nine key specialties such as elderly care; intensive care; dermatology; mental health; oncology; palliative care; pediatrics and women's health, specific symptoms or conditions are explored in each specialty and how Aromatherapy can help treat them.

You will also get to know the “M Technique”, a method for promoting healing and well-being developed and patented by Buckle, which integrates aroma and touch through a structured methodology in which skin receptors send signals to the brain. Exempt from the need to have previous experience with therapeutic massages, the M Technique can be applied when conventional massage is inappropriate, for example, in cases of terminally ill patients; children under hospitalization; premature babies, as well as in people with special needs and patients with dementia.
